It's All In The Box / COMPANY PIVOT

In 2006 Kelly Marshall launched a product company called It's All In The Box, LLC.

The concept was to create boxed gifts for major life events that would compete for consumer spending on flower purchases, a box for Mother's day, Father's day, Easter, Christmas, Hanukkah, Graduation, New Baby etc. Any occasion you might send flowers for, we would offer a beautifully designed, smart, entertaining boxed gift that would keep people coming back occasion after occasion.

While there are several offerings like this currently on the market, when It's All In The Box launched, it was the first.

Acquisition goal- to be purchased by a 1-800 Flowers or Proflowers.

A real estate investor pushed to make the first boxes relevant to purchasing or listing a home. While this was slightly off of the original strategy, these became the first offerings.

The "Welcome To Your New Home Box" had 22 items in it that were things that you "need" or better yet are things you "forgot you needed", the day you move into a new home; address book, note pad and pen, welcome and home champaign flutes, sparkling cider and bottle opener, candle and matches, fine handmade soap with soap dish and hand towel, wrought iron hide-a-key, 14 in one multi tool, box cutter, measuring tape, picture hangers, paper towels, garbage bags, rubber gloves and toilet paper (quite possibly the most valuable item in the box).

"Most Enthusiastic Congrats" for home purchasers contained a bottle of champagne and two champagne flutes.

The In Loving Memory box was the next box launched. Memorial service kit for remembrance of a loved one. This offering did so well that the company pivoted and focused on this single idea and niche moving forward. The company was renamed In Loving Memory Box, LLC.
